How long did that TAKE you??"...
…people often ask. My pieces typically take between 16 and 25 hours of painting time, depending upon size and complexity.
Some artists sit down and are inspired to express an idea with which they’ve been wrestling or to capture the feeling of a moment or place. But I work in a different way. I love to explore the texture and various colorations in a frog’s skin – or the nuances of detail in a reflection – or the unique twinkle in someone’s eye.
I like to be in the moment and study. To really look.
